Advocate Nadeem Sarwar Plea Petition to ban TikTok filed in Lahore High Court
LAHORE A petition to ban the far-famed social media app TikTok was filed within the Lahore High Court (LHC) on August three citing obscenity and time wastage problems.
According to the small print, petitioner Advocate Nadeem Sarwar took a stance that TikTok was spreading vulgarism together with wasting the time and cash of the youth. He other that TikTok was further giving rise to blackmailing and harassment in society.
He requested the court to order Asian country Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to ban the app and national to draft a privacy protection act to shield the younger generation from the negative effects of social media.
Applicant Nadeem created national, Asian country Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Electronic Media administrative body (PEMRA) parties to the petition career for a ban on the TikTok. “The court ought to stop the PEMRA from broadcasting TikTok videos,” Advocate Nadeem expressed.
It may be recalled that earlier in 2019, the Indian government had asked Google and Apple to require down fashionable Chinese short-video mobile application TikTok, aforesaid a report by Economic Times.
