This computer scientist has become the first Pakistani woman to receive IBM’s highest award
Asma Zaheer, a Pakistani computer scientist has just received IBM’s highest award the ‘Best of IBM 2019’. This makes her the first Pakistani woman and computer scientist ever to receive such a prestigious award from one of the biggest American multinational information technology company.
The award was handed to Asma during a ceremony which was held in the Indonesian province of Bali this week. All the leaders and seniors of the company were there along with 1,000 Best of IBM Honorees.
The honorees present at the ceremony have made a great contribution to the company and have led to the growth positioning of IBM as the leader of Artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, and analytics.
The ‘Best of IBM’ award is meant for employees who work tirelessly day and night to increase the success of the company.

Asma Zaheer graduated from the University of Punjab in Computer Sciences and completed her Masters from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST), Lahore. She joined IBM in 2013 and works as IGNITE & Test Innovation Practice Leader for IBM’s Global Business Services, and Client Innovation Center.
