Labour Standards Programme (LSP)

As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.

The GIZ Labour Standards Programme (LSP) focuses on improved cooperation in the areas of labour inspection, prevention, rehabilitation and compensation. Furthermore, an interlocking of inspections and industrial safety management systems is planned. Compliance with labour standards brings improvements in the productivity and quality of manufacturing and is therefore closely related to the competitiveness of companies. An effective labour inspectorate, monitoring the industry’s compliance with labour standards, therefor contributes to decent work in the long term and thus enhances income opportunities and living conditions. The programme is seeking suitable candidates for the following positions for its office in Lahore;

Job title: Knowledge Management Advisor (Private Sector) (Reference No. LSP 2019/006)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, engineering sciences, development or any other relevant discipline

• 10 years of work experience with a focus on a relevant field in sustainable development

• At least 7 years’ professional experience in advisory role and 5 years of demonstrated experience in capacity assessment and development related to textile industry

• Experience of cooperation with different stakeholders like private sector (unskilled worker to top-management level of organizations) and decision makers

• In-depth experience of consultancy in change management

• Work experience in advising industry related to sustainable development

• Very good working knowledge in the area of ITC (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)

• Fluent written and oral knowledge of English and Urdu

• Strong networking skills

• Very strong communication skills, excellent report writing skills

• Strong skills in project management

• Willingness to work in an intercultural environment and to travel within the country

 

Job title. Organisation Development Advisor (Private Sector) (Reference No. LSP 2019/007)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in management, business administration, psychology, sociology or equivalent in the relevant subjects related to organization behaviour, change management, human resource management, etc.

• Demonstrable experience of at least 6 years in successful work in organization development and delivery of counselling/advisory services to national/ international organizations

• Work experience in the labour standards and/or productivity is an advantage

• Work experience with the textile sector is an advantage

• Experience of working with international development sector is an advantage

• Excellent presenting, coordinating and networking skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Willingness to travel frequently for business trips within Pakistan

• Written and oral fluency in English and Urdu is required

• Excellent planning and organizational skills

• Excellent facilitation and consensus-building skills

• Process and result oriented personality

• Strong monitoring and evaluation skills

• Sound knowledge of the principles of labour standards, productivity and quality is a benefit

Job title: Labour Standards Advisor (Private Sector) (Reference No. LSP 2019/008)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in social science, economics, or business administration in HR from a reputed university or similar qualification of a relevant field

• At least 6 years of working experience of which 3 years on labour standards in the industry, preferably the textile and garment industry

• Preferably 2 years of experience in delivering trainings on labour standards/social compliance (e.g. occupational health and safety, wages, working hours, formalisation of labour, discrimination, human resources management)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in industrial engineering, textile or garment engineering, economics, or business administration from a reputed university or similar qualification of a relevant field

• At least 6 years of working experience of which 3 years on productivity standard in the industry, preferably in the textile and garment industry

• Preferably 2 years of experience in delivering trainings on productivity, industrial engineering functions, quality management etc.

• Proven consultancy experience in change management

• Proven experience in establishing an interactive change process through dialogue between management and workforce

• Proven experiences in working with different stakeholder groups like private sector (unskilled worker to top-management level of organizations), and decision makers

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation systems and instruments as well as in measuring performance against productivity standards related key performance indicators

• Highly motivated and able to work independently with high outputs of high quality
