GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJAB

LOCAL GOVT. & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The Government of the Punjab has established a Strategic Support Unit (SSU) in Local Government and Community Development Department (LG & CD Dept) to provide technical assistance to Local Governments and to assist the LG&CD department in the implementation of its public policy. Main policy areas area solid waste and waste water management, improved access to livestock markets, corporate governance and municipal finance. The LG&CD Department offers excellent work environment and unlimited opportunities and potential for personal and professional growth. Applications are invited from eligible professionals / specialists having Punjab domicile on a performance based contract for Management Position Scales (MP-I and MP-III). The detail of the various positions of SSU is as under:

1. Lead Solid Waste Expert: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification: Master in Environmental Engineering from an HEC recognized institution.

Experience: Fifteen years experience in Solid Waste Management with at least two years experience in a foreign jurisdiction with developed solid waste management systems. (Min-Max age: 35-55 years) (Pay: MP-1 Scale)

2. Lead Livestock Market Expert: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification: Doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture-economics, Animal Husbandry, Master in Public Administration or Master in Business Administration from an HEC recognized institution.

Experience: Ten years experience in relation to operation and management of livestock markets. (Min-Max age: 35-50 years) (Pay: MP-I Scale).

3. Lead Corporate Governance: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification: FCA / FCMA from an HEC recognized institution.

Experience: At least ten years experience in corporate sector at a senior position with at least three years experience in a listed company with insight of public corporate and procurement financial matters. (Min-Max age: 35-50 years) (Pay: MP-I Scale).

4. Lead Municipal Finance Expert: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification: Doctoral degree in Public Finance, Economics, or Public Policy from an HEC recognized institution. In case no suitable candidate is available, then Masters degree in the above subjects.

Experience: Three years post qualification experience in relevant field or twelve years post qualification experience in the relevant field in case of Masters degree. (Min-Max age: 35-50 years) (Pay: MP-I Scale).

5. Research Assistant Solid Waste: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification:

Bachelors in Environment Engineering from a HEC recognized institution.

Experience: Three years post qualification experience in the relevant field. (Min-Max age: 25-40 years) (Pay: MP-III Scale).

6. Research Assistant Livestock Markets: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification:

Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture-economics, Animal Husbandry, Public Administration or Business Administration from an HEC recognized institution.

Experience: Three years post qualification in the relevant field. (Min-Max age: 25-40 years) (Pay: MP-III Scale).

7. Research Assistant Corporate Governance: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification: ACMA / ACA from a recognized institution.

Experience: Three years post qualification experience in the relevant field. (Min-Max age: 25-40 years) (Pay: MP-III Scale).

8. Research Assistant Municipal Finance: (1 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification:

Masters or sixteen years of education in Public Finance / Economics / Public Policy.

Experience: Three years post qualification experience in the relevant field. (Min-Max age: 25-40 years) (Pay MP-III Scale).

9. Drivers: (BS-4) (04 Post)

Minimum Educational Qualification: Middle Pass.

Experience: LTV driving experience for two years. (Min-Max age: 25-35 years) (Pay: As per Finance Department’s Notification).

GENERAL INSTRUCTION:

1 The contract shall initially be for a period of three years with an initial three months mandatory period of probation.

2 Only short listed candidates shall be invited for interview.

3 Applicants fulfilling the above mentioned criteria against Sr. No. 1 to 8 should apply through Punjab job portal at Punjab Information Technical Board’s website “https://www.jobs.punjab.gov.plc/” till 11.09.2019

4 Persons already in Government service should apply through proper channel and attach NOC from the concerned department.

5 Applications against Sr. No. 9 along with 2 photographs, attested photocopies of CNIC, Middle Pass School Certificate and LTV licence should reach the office of Section Officer (G), Local Govt. & Community Development Department, Punjab Lahore till 11.09.2019. Applications received after due date or incomplete applications shall not be entertained and would be considered as rejected.

6 No TA / DA shall be paid to any candidate who is called for interview.
