CAREER OPPORTUNITY AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Pakistan Steel being a public sector company seeks to attract dynamic and result oriented leader with immaculate credentials for the challenging position of CEO. The ideal candidate should have an excellent engineering and management background, with experience in managing manufacturing process, have strong leadership skills and abilities to establish strong relationship with key stakeholders.
Qualification and Experience
a. B.Sc./B.E. in Engineering (Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) preferably masters;
b. MBA or equivalent would be considered additional qualification;
c. The person should be qualified from National/International Institution, with minimum 25 years’ experience in senior positions, like Director, President, CEO, in large-scale manufacturing sector organizations and age should not be more than 55 years;
d. Be highly motivated, result oriented, with problem solving attitude and must be able to demonstrate high level of analytical and interpersonal communication skills;
e. Have proven leadership qualities for running the affairs of the manufacturing industries in Pakistan/abroad;
f. In-depth understanding of steel manufacturing process, product structure and industry trends & technological developments and required IT skills;
g. Thorough understanding of steel industry and related public policy challenges and preferences.
a. Lead the development and implementation of corporate strategy, business plan, operational procedures, policies, guidelines and standards, following international best practices, as approved by the Board of PSM;
b. Lead the development of Policy Manual and Systems for Business Processes and periodic monitoring and evaluation;
c. Administering and managing the business, assets and service level of PSM;
d. Making appropriate arrangements to ensure that funds and resources are properly safeguarded and are used economically, efficiently, effectively and in accordance with all statutory obligations;
e. Tap funding sources for PSM, both locally and internationally to raise capital for PSM;
f. Review and critical evaluations of business plans;
g. Timely adherence to relevant legal and regulatory provisions;
h. Operational improvements;
i. Assessment of ongoing concern viability;
j. Should be able to maintain good relations and rapport with the government, public and other industrial organizations;
k. Look after national and international procurements under umbrella of PPRA rules.
Conditions of Appointment
a. Chief Executive Officer shall run all the affairs of the corporation delegated to him from time to time, subject to oversight and supervision of Board of Directors, keeping in view of all statutory obligations;
b. Chief Executive Officer shall be accountable for all actions i.e. administrative/operational/policy matters to the BOD and the government;
c. Chief Executive Officer shall be appointed for a period of 1 year and his services will be terminable on one month’s notice from either side.
d. The appointment will be strictly in accordance with-the requirements of Public Sector Companies (Appointment of Chief Executive) Guidelines, 2015;
e. The applicant shall be required to complete and sign the Application Form-A as per Annexure-A, as provided in Public Sector Companies (Appointment of Chief Executive) Guidelines 2015;
f. The applicants shall also have to submit a declaration on non-judicial stamp paper as per Annexure-B of the above guidelines.
