UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURES FAISiASLABAD
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad, known as the mother of all agricultural institutions in sub-continent is the only varsity in the country which is marching towards excellence and setting new governance and policy standards. The varsity is striving hard to be placed in the top universities of the world with distinction.
Established in 1906 as first agricultural institution in subcontinent, it has produced about 93,000 trained manpower including 1780 PhDs so far. According to Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2019, UAF secured 61st position out of 487 world universities in SDG17 – Partnerships for the Goals and ranked at 77th out of 257 world universities in SDG 13 – Climate action. In the QS ranking it is at 136 number in the agricultural sciences and 29th in Asia.
The newly appointed Vice Chancellor Prof. Or. Muhammad Ashraf (H.I., S.I,), who has bestowed with an astute management skills and an ample experience of serving Chairman PSF and founder Vice Chancellor of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan, started implementing his vision of introducing pleasant reforms in the R&D activities with a clear focus on applied research, fetching exotic research grants from national and international agencies, and putting the varsity on the path of expanding its income generation resources and grabbing top positions in the credible ranking systems of the world.
The University has around 450 PhDs as faculty members and majority of them attained educational and research exposures from advanced countries of the world. The university enjoys the strong academia-industry linkages not only in Pakistan but also abroad including US, China,Turkey, France, Germany, Australia, and others. It has inked 83 international and 57 national Memorandum of Understanding with renowned agricultural and educational institutions.
